One of the joys of making is that inspiration can come from almost anywhere — a colour, a texture, a photograph, an old garment or one unexpected piece of material.

Start with what you have

Before searching for the perfect finished idea, have a look at the things around you. A piece of lace might suggest the colour palette. A decorative trim might become the starting point for the whole project.

Try browsing by feeling, not just by category

Sometimes you're not looking for “40mm ivory trim”. You're looking for something romantic, playful, dramatic, delicate or completely different.
