Look again. πβ¨
One of the loveliest things about making is discovering that inspiration doesn't always arrive looking inspirational.
It might be an old piece of clothing.
A button in a tin.
A little scrap left over from another project.
A colour you noticed on the way home.
Something sitting in a drawer that you've looked at a hundred times without really seeing it.
Try the second look
Choose one ordinary thing.
Don't ask what it is for.
Ask instead:
βWhat could it become?β
Could it become a detail?
A border?
A contrast?
A pocket?
A tiny bit of decoration that nobody expected?
Put two unrelated things together
This is where things can get interesting.
Lay your ordinary object beside a piece of lace or trim. Then try another colour.
You aren't shopping for the answer. You're giving the idea somewhere to go.
If you'd like to explore materials by colour, have a wander through Discover by Colour.
Or, if you already have a project in mind, tell us what you're creating and let the idea lead.
Sometimes inspiration isn't missing. We're just looking too quickly.
Take another look around you today. There might be something quietly wonderful waiting to be noticed.
And if you find it, keep it. β€οΈπ§΅
